Have you all seen former Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong’s tweets? If not, here they’re:
Said it and will say it again we need a F****** centre back with Laurent a bloody DMF and a bloody striker
— Emmanuel Frimpong. (@IAMFRIMPONG26) October 22, 2014
And before u start going down on me it’s bloody true all our players are soo similar jack Ramsey arteta Chambo Sanchez Ozil all too similar
— Emmanuel Frimpong. (@IAMFRIMPONG26) October 22, 2014
FFS Sanchez has had a good season but no disrespect would have been better using that to buy a centre back and a DMF bloody sick of it man

Frimpong, an avid Arsenal fan, took to Twitter to voice his frustrations during Arsenal’s clash against Anderlecht in the Champions League, a game in which Arsenal were trailing until the 89th minute.
The midfielder received a lot of engagement, reaction and agreement with what he was tweeting but is he ‘really’ right?
Fans always fail to realise that what a footballer brings to a side is so much more than the 90–minutes-once-a-week. However, that is all we see and, quite frankly, all we care about.
Per Mertesacker is a leader on and off the pitch, a likeable character within the squad but his lack of pace is becoming an issue this season due to Laurent Koscielny’s poor form and injuries.
I agree with Frimpong to a certain extent re: a centre-back, we should’ve signed a promising 22/23-year-old who could learn and then step into Per’s big shoes in twelve to eighteen months or so.
The Ghanaian international is hardly ripping up trees with his statement regarding all our midfielders being the same style of player; we’ve all known that and voiced our concerns.
Suggesting we shouldn’t have signed Alexis Sanchez for a defensive midfielder and a centre back is wrong, purely because Arsenal are a club that should be, and are, in a position to buy any player they need; so, why didn’t we just address all problems as well as signing a world-class player such as the Chilean international?
One thing I do agree with Frimpong on is that I’m: “bloody sick of it man.”

What of wanting to come to Emirates Stadium, the Stuttgart’s CB Antonio Rudiger? Or does the boss have a better option he would want to pursue comes the January window? Or still, is the boss believing he doesn’t necessarily have to sign a new CB? Knowing he has 2 youthful CBs in the persons of: Semi Ajayi and Isaac Hayden who he is soon promoting to the first team squad. It will be difficult to disagree with the boss philosophy on this CB issue. But what of if the boss sign Antonio Rudiger and convert him to a midfield enforcer? Talking about similarities in style of play by the Gunners midfielders, I dont think the similarities are that obvious as such. Arsenal midfielders are creative and attacking minded midfielders relying heavyly on the passing game, and that what makes them to look similar in playing.
