Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has been handed a £40m January war chest by the Anfield hierarchy, according to reports from German newspaper, Bild (via the Daily Star).

Furthermore, the former Borussia Dortmund manager is supposedly targeting a move for Arsenal star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

The England international has, this season, aired concerns that he may have to move away from The Emirates soon in order to further his career, when speaking on Sky Sports’ Goals on Sunday.

The former Southampton youngster, who is valued at £17m, has stepped up somewhat this term – scoring six and setting up a further six in 26 appearances for Arsene Wenger’s side.

The red half of Merseyside currently sit above Gunners in the Premier League. Klopp’s side are second behind leaders Chelsea, however they do not have a Champions League knockout campaign to look forward to this year

Chamberlain has made 175 appearances for the north London side since arriving from the south coast, scoring a total of 22 goals and winning two FA Cups in his time at the club.
