The latest instalment of ‘Loan Gunner’ involves the man who has endeared himself to the Arsenal faithful with his ‘banter’, Carl Jenkinson.

Some were gutted to see Carl ‘one of us’ Jenkinson had out on loan to Upton Park in the summer transfer window but how has the right-back got on over in east London?

Game time accumulated

Hull City 2-2 West Ham United – 14 minutes

West Ham 3-1 Liverpool – 29 minutes (cautioned)

Manchester United 2-1 West Ham United 25 minutes

West Ham 2-0 Queens Park Rangers 90 minutes

Star moments

There hasn’t been a defining moment or a Man of the Match performance from Jenkinson. However, from talking to a few of my West Ham-supporting mates, the England international’s all round play has impressed the Hammers faithful; he has given Sam Allardyce’s side greater width, pace and impetus down the right-hand side.

Ready to return?

Apparently, Arsenal can pay West Ham a couple of million and bring Jenkinson back before January. And, after Mathieu Debuchy’s injury, there were rumours circulating that Arsene Wenger was contemplating bringing the boyhood Arsenal fan, back.

Certain permanent departure?

Long term, it looks like Calum Chambers has locked down the back-up right-back slot in Debuchy’s absence. Furthermore, Wenger clearly has a lot of faith in Hector Bellerin, so the signs aren’t looking good for Jenko.
