There was a lot of disappointment amongst Arsenal fans when Arsenen Wenger decided to not give Chuba Akpom any game time against Galatasaray despite the comfortable result and the game’s almost redundant nature with Arsenal already qualified and Galatasaray’s exit confirmed.

Out of all the relatively unknown youngsters on the bench in Turkey, Akpom was the most recognisable, and Le Professeur himself said the forward was close to first-team action, so, yeah, pretty baffled by that decision from Arsene.

The 19-year-old, who has played one minute of Premier League football this year, has been linked with Championship clubs Millwall and Charlton Athletic.

Ian Holloway, Millwall’s gaffer, even had this to say today when pressed on the links with Arsenal’s striker:

“I’m sure a lot of clubs would have been

“He’s a fantastic young man, good player, scores a lot of goals.

“He’s an Arsenal player so I think it’s disrespectful if I tell you ‘Yes, no’ or not, but, luckily for Arsenal, they’ve got a very, very good young man.

“I think Arsenal already know my thoughts on that and I don’t like talking about anybody else’s players.”

Yet he gave Sanogo who hardly scores a full 90minutes but not Chuba who’s banging goals after goals. Have said it long before that Wenger practices favouritsm.

Arsene Wenger’s tactics have run out of time. He always assume things will get better by themselves. If the foundation is good and stable, success comes into place. Wengerb MUST buy good, qualty and experienced players not younger stars. [Forever a gunner].
