Cesc Fabregas, hero of yesterday's 3-0 win over Dinamo Zagreb has spoken of his desire to keep the current Arsenal squad together, but also admits that he does not know if Ashley Cole or José Antonio Reyes will leave.
"They are nice guys and we do not want them to leave," Fabregas said. "But it is not my life - it is their life and their decision.
"I cannot say to him [Cole] 'stay'.
"I am sure he is happy at Arsenal, because it is a great club and everyone tries to put everything in a nice way for you.
"I do not know what is going to happen, but I wish him all the best. I hope he stays."
In Cole's absence, Justin Hoyte put in a somewhat unconvincing performance at left back, but Fabregas is sure that his team have enough depth in that position.
"We have shown last year with Mathieu Flamini that other players can play there, now Justin Hoyte is back, Gaël Clichy will be back [fit] soon," he said.
But Fabregas also talked up the pros of keeping Cole, an experienced squad member.
"Ashley is one of the most experienced players we have got, and is one of the best left-backs in the world, so of course we want him to stay."
