Wenger: We are not ready

Arsène Wenger was left pondering Arsenal's host of missed chances as Arsenal lost 1-0 to Manchester City.

It was Arsenal's first loss to City since the forming of the Premiership.

Wenger says that his side are still not yet ready for the challenges of the Premiership, and urged the fans to be patient.

Wenger said: "We cannot finish what we create at the moment.

"In the last two games we have had a lot of possession but have not made enough out of it through naive mistakes at the back.

"But, there is a lot of potential in the side and when we are completely ready we will win these games.

"We are disappointed of course because it is a shame to lose a game like that.

"We are not completely ready yet, it's down to our very late preparation and we have to swallow a defeat that hurts.

"We have to be realistic, we didn't score, conceded and made a mistake and were punished for that.

"But overall, unlike some defeats that are really worrying, this one was encouraging and you have to take a lot of positives out of today's game.

"We lost it and we are deeply hurt because games like that you don't usually lose."

The Arsenal manager also didn't agree that it was a foul by Justin Hoyte, and instead saying that the referee should have stopped play for the foul on Francesc Fabregas.

Wenger added: "Yes I think so, from the outside it looked to be a penalty.

"There was a foul on Fabregas, you know that as well, and if the referee sees it again he knows it as well."

Maybe Philippe Senderos is better than everyone thinks we need him back and fast.

I don't get it, Flamini is fit so why isn't he being played at left back? Flam showed that at full back he's almost a natural.

I've been supporting Arsenal since '94 and I am now getting sick of the 'one way' we can only attack. You know what I mean, always the one-two through the middle of a defence. There is no shame what-so-ever on bombing down the wing and crossing an airborne ball. It annoys me that whenever we get in these positions, we always pass
the ball back into the front of the defence, to try another one-two...

We should play with so much width as we have the players to do so who have pace and dribbling skills, i hate to say this but a good example of a team playing with good width is man utd.

Please Arsene, maybe a new signing can put a smile back on my face and other gooners too.

I can't belive we're fallin' behind Man Utd and Chelski again...we need Flamini on the LB and a strong CD alongside Touré like Sol Campbell(Toure and Campbell were magnific togeter), we also need Thierry back in pace, and all our players should be more confident!

I don't want to be rude on Hoyte, but his mistake today proves us ONCE AGAIN he is just not ready to be a first subs to Clichy. And I'm not even sure if Clichy is ready to be OUR MAIN LEFT BACK.
Any ideas?

Flamini forever or should we go to market before Aug. 31?
