Winger Freddie Ljungberg is fighting to be fit for Arsenal's crucial Champions League match against Hamburg SV on Tuesday.
Freddie had managed to shake off a calf strain and was looking likely to feature for Sweden in order to get some match practice, but suffered a migraine and had to pull out from the squad.
Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger said that he felt Ljungberg was a little short of fitness and has thus decided to exclude him from the squad against Newcastle.
Wenger said: "He is not involved tomorrow because he is a bit short.
"He wanted to play, but now he will prepare to be available for Tuesday night."
The migraine suffered by Ljungberg is thought to have been caused by an allergic reaction to cheese.
