Píres wants move back to Arsenal?

Former Arsenal winger Robért Píres has been quoted by French channel TF1 that he wants a move back to Arsenal.

Píres left Arsenal at the end of last season to join Spanish side Villareal, but has been sidelined by a knee injury that has prevented him from even playing for Villareal now.

Chances of Píres returning are slim however, with his replacement Tomas Rosicky starting to develop and almost telepathic understanding with team mate Alexander Hleb on the field.

The former France international told TF1: "After my two years here, I would love to play one last season for Arsenal.

"Arsčne, boss, have you got the message?"

rob was a great player for arsenal, but for me he betrayed us.
he knew what was the clubs policy of the over 30's.
i am sure that the club would have offered him other years as in the case of bergkamp.
i think it is impossible to see him back, now that we have rosicky.

Well, we could certainly use his experience and passing skills...maybe he can impart some of those to his replacements on the training field...then rosicky and hleb would almost be a complete midfielder that pires never was...as I felt he lacked that tackling ability (but..I must say, that was one HELLUVA tackle on vieria!) in midfield...but his astonishing accuracy with his passing usually makes up for them =)

Wil be glad to see him back at arsenal...1st team player or not.

It really saddens me to see that Robert has been reduced to a state of begging, but, unless he wants to spend another season as back-up for Tomaz, I can't really see him back here.
