Theo Walcott has opted for surgery on a shoulder injury that has hampered his progress this season.
The decision was made after a discussion with manager Arsène Wenger, who thought that since the club's priorities had changed this season, it was possible to have the young forward be out of action for a prolonged period of time.
Wenger had also asked Walcott if he was sure that he wanted surgery done, as the first game at the new Wembley stadium would be the England Under-21s, which would almost certainly have featured Walcott.
Wenger said: "He wants to get it [the operation] done.
"I gave him a choice.
"I asked 'Do you want to wait until this game?' because the first team that plays at Wembley will be the Under-21s.
"He said: 'I want to do it as quickly as possible.'"

It is a good idea for him to go for surgery before it get worst.so alos other players with injuries should be send for treatment before the season begins.
