Reports coming from Spain are saying that Barcelona have agreed a four-year deal to sign Arsenal captain Thierry Henry.
The transfer fee is £16 million, and no players from Barcelona will move in the opposite direction.
Henry's agent, Jeff Weston, said that he had no comment to make. Barcelona themselves have stated that they will not comment on transfer deals that have not yet been completed.
Arsenal were originally asking for €35 million, but manager Arsène Wenger relented and settled for a transfer fee of £16 million.
It is thought that Henry could be paraded at the Nou Camp from as early as Monday.

What a loss! And esp because there is no-one to replace him.
And for the people who thinks we have seen the best of him... and he getting old...
You are prob the same sort of people who were writing Ryan Giggs' obituary in 1997...... hes washed up, going to Milan etc.
Heny has been the best ever AFC player, and has still 6-7 years at the top flight.
Absolute Disgrace - the oard need to take a long hard look at themselves.

What's next? Wenger should come out to the fans & let us know his plans for coming season '07/08' . Lets put henry behind & move on by getting an outright finisher like Owen/Trezzy/Anelka........not forgettin that Eboue,Ade & Toure should be out for the African Cups also

the real problem now will be wenger leaving after the upcoming season. more players will leave after wenger leaves.
i still cant believe henry is sold for just 16m. at least 16m plus eto'o

If he wan'ts to leave so be it, he is only one (extraordinary!) man. People said we were going to fall apart when GG left, when Petit left, when Overmars left. This is not the end of the world, we are bigger than Wenger or Herny. Remember Arsene is an honorable man - even if he is planning to leave next year, I trust him. There is a reason we dont give players over (or approaching) 30 long contracts. Do not be surprised if Henry spend a lot of time on the table. It could be worse - he is not going to Madrid. Money is irrelevant, titi is literally priceless. We Got Nickolas Bendtner, We Got Nickolas Bendtner, We Got Nickolas Bendtner,
Henry had to leave us/stop playing at some stage, the real question is, if Wenger leaves then who fills those enormous shoes?

It's true, he's just confirmed it! I am gutted! I just hope Arsenal go and spend some real money real quickly to stop everyone else reconsidering their position as well!

I wouldn't mind Henry leaving since he has done so much for us, if it wasn't for the fact that one year ago he said that he was never leaving and that the contract then was his last contract ever.
I hope that Henry finds what he's looking for in Barcelona (a retirement), but I think he's a piece of s**t for lying to the fans.

Only 16 million????
I don't mind selling Henry, but for 16 million???
He's one of the best strikers in the world and we're letting him go for 16 million??
Wenger's gone mad. Not because of the sale, but the price.

I hear the deal is 24mm euros upfront with another 6mm euros over the next year or so and an added bonus of 3mm euros should barcelona win the champions league. Absolutely gutted about all this

when i read these comments it makes me laugh. henry was a hero and the best player gunners will ever see, now people are critisicing him. it just shows the fickleness that the british tabloids install into people. good luck to you thierry you are my true hero. gunners fans onwards and upwards, the boss will replace him. if you look at the team we've got and any new players we'll be back. this is a great opportunity for the young big players to step up.

We didn't rely on only one person for all achieved so far. This will galvanise the team so quite sure we'll see real gunners grit next season for honours.

It was inevitable. It's now time to move on. It's even better it happened this early so everyone can get over it. It would have been better though if he had done this last season.
I hope the other players do not allow this to affect them.
It's also very sad that the management of this team are keen on destroying it.

I'm saddened at this news, but at least now we can move on and hopefully put the money into building the club and making a run back to the top where we belong. Thanks for the efforts Thierry. Now F**k off.

You have to take every story involving Henry leaving with a pinch of salt. Though I'm worried that this time it may be true :-/.

I understand him wanting to win things, but how could he leave, he is our captain and should be leading by example, it sends a clear message to the board...sell and bring back david dein. The board are the failures here, selling our heart for 16 million peices of silver.
