Tevez interested in joining Arsenal

West Ham striker Carlos Tevez has indicated that he would be interested in joining Arsenal, after the departure of Thierry Henry to Barcelona.

But any likelihood of a deal being brokered is slim as manager Arsène Wenger has indicated before that he's not in favour of players being owned by third-party companies.

Tevez said: "I know people are now talking about Arsenal and obviously that is something I am excited about.

"It's another big club and the good thing is I wouldn't have to move out of London. I also already know English football and I like it.

"Arsenal's style is more technical than physical so I could fit in no problem. My transfer is being talked about a lot. It's beautiful to be wanted by various clubs.

"I didn't have problems adapting at West Ham," Tevez continued.

"I didn't speak English but nevertheless I made myself understood on the pitch."

The striker indicated that he would also be interested in a move to Inter.

What I am more interested in is when the aged Arsenal board is going to wake up to the fact that until Arsenal is prepared to compete financially with Liverpool, Man Utd and Chelsea, they will NEVER win the Premier League or Champions League.

Once again, as you scour the weekend papers, all talk is about who Liverpool and Man Utd are buying. Fernando Torres would be a fantastic buy for Arsenal, but (1) Arsenal would never be capable of spending £26m, and (2) Arsenal would never be capable of matching his wage demands. I must agree that salaries and spending in football is virtually out of control, however, when we look at the records in 10 years time, no-one will remember how much players cost or what they earned. What everyone will remember is who won the Premier and Champions leagues.

I have been an Arsenal fan all my life, yet I now feel quite sad that we have no chance of winning either of the two major trophies again without a massive financial investment. David Dein had the foresight to realise that but the Board at Arsenal just spluttered and hurrummpphed and kicked him out. That signalled the end.

I think it was probably inevitable that Henry was going to go this year. At his age it was now or never, so I don't resent that at all. But if this team is ever going to complete, then a massive culture shift needs to occur at the club, and spending £40-50m in one campaign should not be baulked at.

My prediction for next season, which I make quite sadly, is that Liverpool, Man Utd and Chelsea will fight it out at the top with barely 6 points between them. At best, Arsenal will end 4th at least 15 points behind the pack. So, if that happens, and I hope it doesn't, Arsenal will have wasted another season. All the usual excuses will pour out, such as this is a young team still developing. How many more seasons do we have to hear that reason.

The fans of Arsenal want to feel and see success on the pitch now for the incredible prices paid for seats. Is all this only for lining the players pockets or is it only fair for trophies to come to the club.

I'm sure this will stimulate some reaction from you all. Those of you who don't agree with me, just be honest with yourself - is it more of a forlorn hope (as I have had each season) that the club will win the league and the Champions league. And don't mention the cup - that has become (god forbid) a second class tournament with the league cup a waste of everyones time. The Premier and Champions leagues are the only ones worth competing for and where the financial rewards are. So, please be honest. Are you sure this club can still compete?

I would love to see Tevez here. He was really impressive in saving West Ham, and i think with our style, he would snuggle up nicely with us!

He would be a welcome addition to the squad, i love his passion, the way he lifted west ham and single handedly beat them the drop was awesome, his price tag is a lot though. Question is, is he worth £30 mil.
