By now it’s becoming a bit of a cliche for Arsenal, but next season could be the season Arsenal challenge again. We gooners are tired of the potential and the “what could have been” excuses, and now demand success no matter the cost.

There comes a point in every season where Arsenal demonstrate that they are more then capable of challenging for the title. Unfortunately for us however, it is usually far too early or much too late and as such fades away. If only Arsenal could have achieved this kind of form earlier. If only Giroud and Koscielny and Ozil were fit the whole season. If only Arsenal had picked up just a few more points earlier in the season. Sound familiar?

Far too familiar by most gooners’ estimations. Once again next season becomes our main focus, and the general vibe is optimistic. Let’s look at the positives, Arsenal are on course to finish second for the first time in 10 seasons while also retaining their FA Cup title.

A new balance has been found with the emergence of Francis Coquelin, while the team’s record against the big clubs has improved drastically. The push over days are over, and there is finally something to build on.

The Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil partnership is blossoming as well, and that is integral as they will be the pillars of the side going forward. You feel Arsenal are still just nearly thereĀ  and few more marquee signings will push the side over the top.

The Stadium is paid for, and the days of recovering and recouping are over. No longer is Arsenal a work in progress, the time for success is right now. With the team assembled at the moment, Arsenal well and truly have no excuses. They didn’t have any this season, and definitely won’t have any next season.
