Former Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour has told the Daily Record that he thinks it is unlikely Celtic would reject a £35million bid for striker Moussa Dembele in the summer.

After scoring 27 goals for the Hoops in all competitions so far this season, the 20 year old is in high demand with the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea being mentioned as possible future destinations for the Frenchman. Parlour said Celtic have to be realistic regarding Dembele’s future beyond the end of the season:

“Dembele’s been a terrific signing for Celtic. To get him for next to nothing was a wonderful bit of business. Keeping him in January was important and I’m pleased he stayed because he can enjoy the rest of the season and probably end up with some winners’ medals.”

“But you have to be realistic, it will be extremely difficult if a huge bid comes in this summer. When you’re looking at figures of £35million up, then it’s serious money.”

Dembele’s agent Mamadi Fofana told the Record on Wednesday in an interview that his client is happy at Celtic Park and is committed to seeing out the four year deal he signed with the club last summer.

Circumstances do however change quickly and the interest in Dembele will no doubt intensify between now and the summer where it is likely Celtic will be presented with a number of offers for the forward.
