Hull City manager Mike Phelan has confirmed his side’sĀ links with Arsenal outcast Carl Jenkinson.

Hull are suggested to be keen on securing the right-back services for the rest of the season and Phelan admits he wants to sign the Englishman.

“Yes, he’s been spoken about. But there are a few others in the hat for Carl,” Phelan said ahead of Friday’s game with Everton (via Sky Sports).

“I would love him to come here. I’ve spoken to staff at Arsenal and I’ve been encouraged by it.

“But I do also realise that there are other clubs interested in Carl. So that’s where we’re at at the moment and nothing definite has gone ahead and there are others.”

Hull are currently propping the table with just 12 points from 18 games. After a bright start, their thin squad is paying the price.

The Tigers will have to see off West Ham, the club where Jenkinson spent the previous two seasons on loan, Aston Villa and Swansea City who are all interested.
The Englishman is down the pecking order at The Emirates, with Hector Bellerin and Gabriel preferred by Arsene Wenger. His long term Arsenal future looks bleak.
