Kolo Touré, No. 5

Profile

Kolo Touré

Kolo Touré has really come of age since his move to central defence. He is now regarded as one of the finest centre-halves in the Premiership, and is senior member of a very young Arsenal back four. His pace, power and recovery are amongst the very best in the business.

Last season, he enjoyed a magnificent defensive partnership with young Swiss defender Philippe Senderos. Together, they helped Arsenal keep 10 clean sheets in a row in the Champions League, an all time record. The combined form of the two young defenders hastened the departure of Sol Campbell from the club.

Kolo's leadership skills have also developed throughout his time at the club, and many see him as a future captain. Always playing with a smile on his face, Touré is a man who enjoys his football.
