Nicklas Bendtner, No. 26

Profile

Nicklas Bendtner

Nicklas Bendtner is a young Danish striker who joined Arsenal in the summer of 2005. A tall, imposing figure, Bendtner also has good close control skills that are somewhat unexpected in a player of his stature.

He was initially spotted playing for the Danish Under-19 side and was quickly snapped up by the Gunners, who saw him as a way to add versatiliy to the foward structure.

Bendtner has featured numerous times for the reserves, forming a deadly partnership with fellow striker Arturo Lupoli.

His performances led to a call-up into the Danish under-21 squad for the UEFA U-21 Championship 2006 tournament for the first time in May this year.
