Who are ya?

You won’t be surprised to hear that Martin Montoya has come straight from Barcelona’s famed La Masia, eventually making his first-team debut in the 2010/11 season.

Since then Montoya, who plays at right-back, has made 45 appearances for the Catalan giants – including some vital Champions League experience – bagging two goals and six assists in the process.

Spend some money, Arsene

Having made one La Liga appearance so far this season, it appears the Spanish international is surplus to requirements whilst Luis Enrique remains in charge of the La Liga giants.

Believability factor

The 23-year-old full-back has reportedly expressed a desire to leave the Nou Camp/Camp Nou (whatever one you want to use), so, given that clubs don’t tend to want to keep players that want out, Montoya may well be relatively easy to obtain, should Arsene Wenger want to.

Is a full-back really on our radar, though?

Game changer?

Not really from a ‘Arsenal will now when the Premier League’ point of view, however, it would mean Calum Chambers could fine tune his game at central defence, as well as providing competition for Mathieu Debuchy returns – we’d then sell Carl Jenkinson and loan out Hector Bellerin.
