Who?

Petr Cech. The man needs no introduction

Where?

The Chelsea legend joined the club in 2004 from Rennes for a modest fee of around €5.5million. Who would have thought he would go on to make over 300 appearances in a glorious trophy laden career (for a Chelsea player that is). It is worth mentioning that Arsenal once nearly signed Cech in 2002 from Sparta Prague after agreeing a fee and personal terms. Work permit issued eventually hindered the deal.

Arsene, spend some money!

Arsenal are being linked with a £7million move for him in January, which would be a real coup. The 32-year-old is currently on a £120,000-a-week deal at Chelsea and Arsenal are allegedly prepared to match that wage.  He should have several years still left to play and what a signing that would be for us.

Believability factor-5

£7million is peanuts for a goalkeeper of Cech’s class and coming from a direct rival makes this rumour fairly hard to believe to be honest. I’ve a feeling any pursuit of the player will cost Arsenal a lot more than that. not that I’m sold on the idea of Chelsea being willing to sell to us in the first place.

Game Changer? Yes

I usually am against replaced Szczesny but Cech would be amongst the few elite who I would be willing to replace the Pole with. The arrival of Cech along with a few good men in defense would go a long way to shoring up our struggling differences.

Common men, we both know neither Chelsea or Mourinho will give anything to Arsenal, and i don’t think Cech wants to throw away his status at Chelsea for 2 maybe 3 years at Arsenal.

Arsenal, don’t need him. What a waste of time reporting this.
