Callejon to Arsenal is a rumour that has picked up steam recently. The Napoli forward is reportedly unhappy in Italy and desperate for pastures anew. I said before that he should not be a priority for Arsenal this January, but could be an interesting addition if he is indeed available (only if he is available).

Who are ya?

A 27 year old Real Madrid academy graduate, Callejon joined Napoli last summer. He has 19 goals in 43 appearances for the Serie A club thus far but has apparently grown disgruntled by Napoli’s poor run of form recently. The metro reckons he could be ready to jump ship in January.

Arsene, spend some money!

Callejon could be available for a cut price of £15.9million and has allegedly informed his agent to make his availability known.

Believability factor

I would rate this rumour a 6 out of 10. I think there is something to this report, but I haven’t seen enough to tilt it in either direction. Arsenal’s already stocked attacking corps makes me doubtful as well.

Game changer?

Not exactly a step up from Welbeck or Giroud so I wouldn’t label him a game changer. Interesting addition nonetheless though as he is comfortable on the wing as well (in the case of Arsenal losing a winger in January).
