Arsenal chief executives are still considering Bournemouth manager, Eddie Howe, as a serious candidate to replace Arsene Wenger at the end of the season, should his contract not be renewed, according to reports from Goal.com.
The Frenchman, who – by almost a decade – is the longest serving manager in the top four leagues of English football, could see his twenty-year tenure come to an end at the end of this season, with his current deal set to end in the summer.
As per the report, the Cherries boss who, over two spells at the club, has lead the club from the brink of extinction to it’s first experience of top flight football, is being favoured by Ivan Gazidis due to his footballing philosophies.
The former Burnley manager insists on his sides playing attractive, flowing and attacking football, something which many critics felt would be the South Coasts side’s undoing last season, which was proved wrong.
However, there could be some doubts over just how easily the 38-year-old would adapt to life at such a high profile club, especially considering his less successful spell at Turf Moor.
