West Ham gaffer Sam Allardyce has revealed some rather promising – depending on your viewpoint of Arsenal’s pursuit of Winston Reid – developments regarding the New Zealand international’s Upton Park future.

Reid has long been linked with a move across London to the Emirates following his transformation in the Championship after a less than impressive start to his West Ham career after joining from FC Midtjylland.

The centre-back’s contract is up at the end of this current Premier League campaign so a cut-price deal is certainly in the offing this month – especially after Big Sam all but confirmed that Reid won’t be signing a new deal with the east London outfit:

“There is no future for Winston Reid at West Ham at the moment because his contract ends on June 30

“I would say it’s highly unlikely that Winston is going to sign for us based on what people have said to me.”

Let’s hope that Reid’s shocking performance against us – in which he conceded a penalty for a foul on Santi Cazorla – was just a bad day at the office!
