17. Alexis Sanchez

The big marquee signing to herald a new era following Arsenal’s FA Cup triumph of 2013/14, Alexis Sanchez was the transfer that got all Gunners fans out of their seats in July 2014.

A truly world class talent, Alexis – as he likes to be known – was signed from Barcelona, playing alongside the likes of Xavi, Andres Iniesta and Lionel Messi and will no doubt bring creativity, dynamism and trickery to the Gunners’ frontline.

Arsenal’s second most expensive signing after Mesut Ozil for a fee of £35 million, Sanchez is often deployed on the right of a front three, while also boasting the strength and leadership skills to play through the middle as he so often has competed for Chile.

Everyone at Arsenal will be hoping that Sanchez goes on to enjoy an illustrious spell for the Gunners following previous spells at Udinese, River Plate and Colo-Colo.
