If I were to pick one player from Arsenal who has stood out recently, it would absolutely have to be Jack Wilshere. The lad has been immense for club and country lately and is undoubtedly near to recapturing hisĀ  best form (as I predicted). He showed it again today against Hull in spurts, and from the looks of things he will be an important player for us this year. I was prepared to say that his injury struggles seem to really be behind him at the moment, but it wasn’t to be unfortunately. Early reports say he has twisted his knee and we don’t know how long he will be out. Nonetheless gooners are chomping at the bit to see him continue to shine.

He has a goal and assist in seven games for Arsenal thus far and always looks like adding to his tally which maybe wasn’t the case in the last few season. He was immense for England the other night against Estonia and should have had a few assists if not for wasteful play from his teammates. He was the best player at Stamford Bridge two weeks ago as well and is really finding his stride at the moment.

He will take on a much bigger role in the near future with all the injuries and should get a descent run in the team. I expect to see Jack deliver a lot more this year. He is a supremely capable footballer and he is beginning to show that yet again.

Today’s injury may have have yet again hampered him but I don’t want that to take away from his performances thus far this season. Hopefully it isn’t long term, as he was just beginning to hit full stride.
