Alexis Sanchez has assured Arsenal fans that he is happy in north London after he appeared to throw a small tantrum having been substituted in the win over Swansea.

The Chilean has been the focus of attention in north London thanks to his senstational form, however, there is also doubt over his future at the club.

The former Barcelona man is yet to sign a new deal and with just 18 months left to run on his current contract, fans are growing nervous.

Speaking after the win in south Wales, the forward said:

“I definitely feel like an important player and my team-mates let me know every day.

“I try to prove I am an important player every day and game after game. I believe we have the players and the quality to win many things.

“I feel really happy and comfortable at the club.”

The 28-year-old, who has netted 16 goals in all competitions so far this term, also wants to repay the fans’ faith in the squad.

He added: “I want to give the fans a new title.

“We always get our fans support in the thick and thin.

“We must win the Premier League or Champions League for them.”

With Bayern Munich to come in the round of 16 of the Champions League, Gunners manager Arsene Wenger will need his star man to be on top form if they are to progress through the first knockout round for the first time in six years.
