Another day, another Lukas Podolski rumour! The German international appears closer and closer to a move away from the Emirates, with that exit potentially coming as soon as the Janaury transfer window opens.

Moves back to his homeland of German have long been touted, with various Bundesliga outfits being accredited with an interest in the World Cup winner. However, today’s transfer talk from the London Evening Standard suggests that Fiorentina have entered the race, alongside fellow Italian outfit Inter Milan for the forward.

I feel the German international’s eventual exit will fall into the same category as Andrei Arshavin, Eduardo and Jose Antonio Reyes, as players who were a success at Arsenal, in patches and perhaps under different circumstances could’ve been long-term successes in north London for Arsene Wenger’s side.

If Podolski doesn’t play anymore minutes for the Gunners – a very real possibility! – then he will leave the Emirates with a very respectable 29 goals from just 54 starts in all competitions.
