AS Roma striker Mattia Destro has admitted he is pleased with constant rumours linking Arsenal with a move for his services.

Speaking to ‘Radio Roma’, today, the 23-year-old, reportedly subject to a £20million bid from Arsene Wenger, said:

People are talking about Arsenal now. You know it rains in London?

There’s lots of rumours, they’re good aren’t they?

Do you like being linked like that?

Yes, it means you’re doing well.

Something else I want to include in the interview, is this rather amusing question regarding former Gunner Gervinho; now, I don’t know whether this is the exact question asked or whether something got lost in translation:

Does Gervinho annoy you in particular?

No, not at all. He’s given me plenty of assists.

In fairness to the Ivorian, he has become a key player for the Serie A side, however, I’m sure a few of us Gooners would’ve wanted to answer that.

Destro has 23 goals in Serie A from 51 appearances – only 31 starts.
