A lot of talk has surrounded Arsenal’s Theo Walcott in recent weeks following his failure to regain his starting spot after a lengthy injury lay-off.

Theo definitely wouldn’t have expected to walk straight back into Wenger’s XI, however, he will certainly have a few alarm bells ringing following his lack of game time – do we agree that there has been a few times that Le Professeur probably should’ve started Theo? A couple of easy games that would’ve appeased the England international and still seen us get the victory?

The fact Walcott has less than 18 months on his current Arsenal deal – seriously, it feels like just last month we were concerned about his previous contract ‘will he or won’t he?’ saga – and that means we have a big summer decision to make re: the former Southampton man.

The forward has attracted interest from Liverpool and, whether we like it or not, Walcott would thrive there. With his pace, Brendan Rodgers’ style of play and the likes of Daniel Sturridge and Raheem Sterling in the final third with him, it will scare defenders.

Theo has his flaws, however, the fact our direct rivals would try to sign him if we were willing to sell/let him leave as a free agent, tells you everything you need to know.

Walcott today took to social media to reveal Arsenal hadn’t offered him a new deal yet – bizarre step from Theo? A tactic to force a new deal?

If he does not agree a NEW contract by the summer transfer window we need to sell him. And he does not rate more than he is already paid.

with his injuries, there no other club he is going to be a darling to the fans rather than arsenal.
