Barcelona are not keen on signing Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil, according to Mundo Deportivo.

Reports from Spain in recent months have suggested that the Catalan club would like to bring the German playmaker to La Liga, but the Spanish newspaper say the 28 year old does not fit the type of player they are looking for in the summer.

Barcelona sporting director Robert Fernandez is said to be interested in signing either Borussia Dortmund’s promising young midfielder Julian Weigl or Sevilla’s Steven N’Zonzi, despite the Frenchman signing a new contract last month.

Mundo Deportivo report that Ozil is keen on leaving Arsenal for Barcelona, but it seems the feeling isn’t mutual. The midfielder’s poor recent displays for Gunners have prompted calls for him to be replaced in the starting eleven, and with 18 months left on his current deal at the Emirates, his future at the club seems to be in serious doubt.
