Freddie Ljungberg, Arsenal stalwart, is slowly beginning to lose his influence on the Arsenal team. Having relied on his goals from midfield for so long, Arsenal will be shifting their focus onto Rosicky and Hleb to find the back of the net it seems. Two seasons ago, Freddie scored 14 times. Last season he was only able to contribute 2 goals.
Freddie has been here for close to ten seasons. He joined Arsenal in 1998, making an immediate impact with a goal in his first appearance - against Manchester United, no less! Since then, he has provided a great many runs from deep and has scored many vital goals for Arsenal.
Despite his diminishing impact in front of goal, Freddie is still a consummate team player. He continues to battle hard on whichever flank he is employed on and this makes up for anything he lacks in skill. I remember in the Champions League final, he ran himself into the ground in order to give Arsenal an avenue of attack whilst they socked up the pressure from Barca.
It's things like that that make Freddie so loved here at Arsenal.
