The Premier League season is quickly approaching, which means football is nearly back to add excitement and drama to our lives. It also means transfer deadline day is approaching and a diminishing window of opportunity for Arsenal to complete more transfers.

Wenger seems rather content at the moment having already brought in Petr Cech between the sticks, preaching cohesion and unity within the current crop of players. But there is still a sense that the boss has something up his sleeve.

Lord Harris’ revelation yesterday that Wenger has over £200m to spend and is targeting a centre forward will surely have peaked gooners’ interest, and the final weeks of the transfer window could yet be very interesting.

If most gooners had their way, Wenger would make a dent in that £200m to bring in Karim Benzema.

A true out and out goal scorer has to be the priority for Wenger and Arsenal, and most would agree that a proper signing in that department would instantly make Arsenal title challengers. Benzema is that proper signing.

Arsenal need a proper finisher and fox in the box. An experienced, proven, and lethal goal machine who is good for at least 25 goals per season (Aguero scored 26 and City still didn’t win the league, just to put things into perspective). Benzema fits that bill. He is one of the most feared danger men in all of world football and has proven he can get the goals.

La Liga, Champions League, Copa del Rey, Ligue 1, and international play at the World Cup; you name it, he has scored in it. Keen eye for goal this lad has; can finish with both feet no problem, can head it, can shoot from distance, he is the perfect all around striker.

He can create chances for himself off the dribble as well, and can really take a match by the scruff of the neck. That is not to say that he doesn’t enjoy some good service though (as all forwards do of course) and being reunited with his old pal Mesut Ozil would serve him well.

The two linked up brilliantly at Madrid and will undoubtedly get back to old ways, while the likes of Sanchez, Cazorla, and Walcott will poor on the toppings. Benzema would salivate at the kind of service he gets at Arsenal.

He could also play alongside Giroud in a two forward system if need be, as he loves to feed off flicks and layoffs. Giroud would provide that and more in abundance and the two of them would make a smashing pair I reckon.

Wenger must do whatever possible to bring him in.

No offence you make it sound like all we have to do is go to the supermarket and pick him up off the shelve. Madrid wont let him go unless they buy Reus or someone with Ronaldo been played as a striker and bale on one wing they need someone else on the other.
Not only that with morata and huguain gone where is there back up for Ronaldo if he gets injured who is the other striker ?
There is a lot of twists and turns before Madrid even dream of selling as u put it such a special striker.
