With qualification to the knockout stage of the Champions League already secured, Arsenal must now switch focus to getting back on track domestically. League form has been stuttering all season, but looked to be improving after the lads won two on the trot. It all came to a halt after last week’s debacle against Stoke, so the boys will be looking to put that right. Newcastle stroll into the Emirates on very good form having won 8 of their last 9 in all competitions, drawing once. They of course are buoyed by victory over Chelsea last weekend as well and will be raring to go.

Wenger revealed some concerning team news in his press conference yesterday, confirming the club defensive crisis looks set to continue. Koscielny and Monreal will miss the match through injury, while Chambers is suspended for his red card against Stoke. Arteta and Walcott have still not recovered while Aaron Ramsey has suffered a fresh knock in midweek and will also miss out. No news yet on the extent of his injury but it appears minor. The likes of Sanchez, Welbeck, Giroud, Cazorla, and Gibbs were all rested midweek and should be fresh and raring to go, while Szczesny and Debuchy are also back and fit. I expect them all to play, while Wenger will have some reshuffling to do. I think we will see a make shift backline, but plenty of fire power going forward.
