Arsenal could well miss out on their second defensive midfield target this summer. After seeing former Monaco man Geoffrey Kondogbia join Inter, it now seems Southampton ace Morgan Schneiderlin could slip through the club’s grasp as well. The player is reportedly worth around £25 million and is said to the subject of interest from several clubs including rivals Manchester United.

Missing out on the player may not be such a bad thing for Arsenal however, as several other equally talented options are still on the market. The £25 million sum could go a long way in securing the services of these players as well, so it is not all doom and gloom by any means. I suspect Arsenal may still do what they can in pursuing Schneiderlin, but won’t be too disappointed should they miss out. Have a look at three alternatives Wenger should consider should he miss out on Schneiderlin.
