It’s not too early to start thinking about silly season, as January will be here before you know it. While it is usually a quite window, I do expect (or at least hope for) some activity from Arsenal, particularly in the defensive department.

In fact, Arsenal’s business should be done exclusively in the defensive department. Transfer rumours can be, well, silly (hence the name) and reports of even more attacking midfielders and wingers joining the club are hard to understand. Some of the mooted targets are simply not Arsenal material, let alone whether or not the club needs a player in that position.

I’m hoping (as I’m sure we all are) that the Khedira reports are true, as that would represent a fantastic bit of business and certainly address a long standing need.
