I won’t make excuses for a less than stellar performance, but Arsenal were extremely unlucky to have conceded the equalizer. It was a stone cold foul on Diame, and it is mystery as to why the referee let play go on. Diame’s manager Steve Bruce even admitted to a fortunate call (or no call in this case) saying; “we maybe got a decision their.” It was as blatant as they come and the lads showed their discontent as did Wenger in his post game interview. It is frustrating given the overall outcome of the game and you can’t help but feel Arsenal were robbed. Fans took to twitter to voice their frustrations. Here are a few of my favorites.

@samuelJayC

“LAUGHABLE referring at Emirates. Diame manhandles Flamini to the floor and the referee plays on. Premier League officiating reaches new low.”

@carlbovis_AFC

“Put in context, Diame‘s foul on Flamini was identical to the one that saw Aaron Ramsey get sent off in the Champions league!”

@gunnerblog

“Bruce calls Diame‘s goal “an individual piece of grappling… we maybe got a decision there.”

@dhaneshdprabhu

“do you think MF would have stopped if it wasn’t a foul? NO. He would have contested it with Diame. It was blatantly obvious.”

There are a few other tweets that possess some colorful language, so you will have to search for them on twitter yourself, but you get the general consensus from those above.

    It was outrageous and the ref let them get away with so much yesterday. But it was still no excuse for our performance. Our team of star names should make mincemeat of Hull’s nobodies
