It is with a sense of sadness that I write this. Arsenal Football Club will release Abou Diaby this summer when his contract expires.
Reports are doing the rounds that Arsene Wenger has finally given up on the big midfielder after countless injury setbacks.
In the rare occasions where the Frenchman has managed to string a few performances together, we’re continually reminded about just how good Diaby is and how beneficial he would be to the side if he were available.
Diaby carries those Vieira qualities; the ability to run from one box to another in what seems like just three powerful strides.
The performance I will always remember Diaby for will be the game at Anfield, at the beginning of the 2012/13 season. The boys walked away with three points thanks to goals from Lukas Podolski and Santi Cazorla but Diaby was phenomenal in the middle of the park,
All Arsenal fans will hope a fresh start for Abou will be just that he needs and will no doubt wish him every success in the future.
After 9 years at the club and over 40 injuries. Arsenal Midfielder, Abou Diaby looks set to be released by Arsenal this summer.

I don’t know if that Diaby ‘news’ is true or not but it would seem very likely and it’s made me very, very sad. Day we sold Cesc sad.

One of my biggest dreams was to see Abou Diaby overcome what that thug did to him and be the player he was destined to be.

Genuinely think Diaby would’ve been world class if he stayed healthy. The guy had 40 injuries in 9 years. Someone cursed him.

As much as I feel sorry for Diaby it’s an investment that exhausted it self 3 years ago. Sometimes you have to shoot the wounded.
