What. A. Hit. Yes i’m still raving over Aaron Ramsey’s volley against Galatasaray. And no, it won’t get old. Ramsey’s volley is among the best hit balls I’ve ever personally witnessed. The technique it takes to pull off something like that is nothing to sneeze at, and I might go as far as to say this was Ramsey’s best ever strike.

Might. He scored some absolute crackers last season, and although none were quite as far away, he showed on several occasions that his Galasaray strike was no fluke. His volleys against Liverpool and Sunderland were things of beauty, while his finishes against Swansea and Hull were more about composure.

For me though, Ramsey’s best ever goal came against Norwich. And I’m not referring to the slalom in the box where he made three defenders miss and leave their feet (although that was a doozy as well) . I’m talking about his second in that match, which was yet another volley, and this one perhaps take even more technique than Tuesday’s. I will be sure to leave a video for those who don’t remember or have never seen it, but for now let’s walk through it.

I remember that goal like it was yesterday. A flowing move from Arsenal picked out Giroud on the left. Giroud sent a delicately weighted hanging ball for Ramsey who turned up just outside the corner of six yard box at the far post. Ramsey steadied himself, lashing his right boot at the ball and rifling it off the underside of the crossbar and into the top right corner of the net.

Unbelievable hit, and a much more difficult one than Tuesday’s because of his position and the trajectory of the ball. Although much closer, the margin for error when hitting across a ball like that is extremely small, and simply keeping that ball on target is difficult in itself. Let alone smashing into the back of the net. My words don’t quite do it justice, watch this beauty for yourself down below.

Sensational. Ramsey has quite a portfolio of exquisite goals now and can add the Galatasaray strike to the list. The Norwich hit has my vote, but you can’t go wrong with either one. If you are undecided, here is a video of all of his goals from last season. He scored a few in prior seasons as well but none of those come anywhere close to last season’s breakout run, let alone Tuesday’s screamer.

Lets just hope Ramsey has plenty more where these came from. Arsenal could sure do with some going forward.
