Arsene Wenger has ignored Jose Mourinho’s comments suggesting Arsenal are attempting to buy the title, saying he is not concerned with outside opinions and is focused only on what is right for Arsenal. Mourinho mentioned the signings of Ozil, Sanchez, Chambers, and Debuchy, saying Arsenal have spent their way into title contention.

Wenger refused to be drawn into a war of words, saying Arsenal spend money appropriately and when needed, and focus more on developing homegrown players.

“We spend when we think we have to spend and do not listen too much to what people think or say,” said the boss.

“We just try to make the right decisions. When we have the money available we spend it, when we don’t have it we don’t spend the money we haven’t got.”

“I believe if you one day make the real statistics of the players we have developed here and compare them to all the other clubs you will be surprised.”

Good on the boss to remain grounded as I’m sure it takes a massive amount of restraint not to fight fire with fire. Let’s hope the lads do the the talking for him on Sunday.

Mourinho is WORLD CLASS HYPOCRATE!.. Who doesn’t know his past?

I got my calculator out and over the last 3 years the net totals are:

    Arsenal 105.9, Chelsea 140.1

Anything shorter Arsenal have spent more, but I feel a Chelsea spending spree coming on…
