Manager Arsène Wenger has said that Chelsea’s superior physical strength won’t be the factor that decides the match between the two sides today.

Arsenal travel to Stamford Bridge for what is possibly the first heavyweight clash of the season, with only four points separating the two sides at the top of the table.

Pundits and so-called football experts have said that Wenger’s teams don’t stand a chance against Chelsea’s more physical game play, and with four losses in the last five games, it would be difficult to argue against that notion.

Wenger said: “What for you is physical strength?

"How can you explain how Spain won the World Cup and Barcelona beat Chelsea in the Champions League?

"Football is not only down to physique. It’s down to intelligence, technique, mobility. There is not one way. That’s what makes it interesting.

"Did Didier Drogba score last week? No he didn’t, he played against Kolo Touré.

"When Touré played here you said he could not handle him. Suddenly when he moves to Manchester City he’s stronger."
