Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will agree a two-year extension at The Emirates in March which will allow the club to press on with deals for key playing staff, according to reports from The Mirror.

The Frenchman celebrated his 20th year in charge of the Gunners this season, and declared at the start of the campaign that he felt he had the most mature squad for years at his disposal.

Although they could be in a better position, the north London side have begun 2017 well and are still firmly in the title race as we head towards the serious end of the season.

With that, a Champions League clash against Bayern Munich coming up, as well as another round in the FA Cup coming up later this month, it could well be a season to remember.

The main driving force behind a new deal for Wenger, however, is believed to be the assurances is will offer star duo Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil as the powers that be at The Emirates battle to tie them down to new deals.
