Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has given the Gunners faithful a fresh injury concern ahead of the international break, after admitting Alexis Sanchez picked up a groin issue.

Alexis smashed two goals past Manchester United yesterday afternoon as Arsenal defeated Manchester United 3-0 but the Chilean was substituted in the 80th minute, with Kieran Gibbs his replacement, and immediately hobbled down the tunnel.

Chile have selected Alexis as part of their team for the upcoming fixtures against Brazil on Friday and Peru next Tuesday, where he is expected to feature in both games.

However, speaking to reporters after yesterday’s victory, Wenger raised his concern on the issue.

“He has a little groin problem. ”

“Unfortunately he goes to Chile. You cannot stop him from going to Chile and he loves so much to play for his country and he will play against Brazil [on Friday] and Peru [next] Tuesday so the game at home against Brazil he will not want to miss.

“Hopefully he will come back in good shape.”

Arsenal will be praying their key-players return from the international break in top condition as the season continues with a home clash against Watford before a crucial Champions League showdown with Bayern Munich at the Emirates.

If the Gunners are to overcome the currently-unbeaten Bavarian giants, then they will need players like Alexis on top-form.
