Arsene Wenger has revealed the news that all Arsenal fans want to hear. Well, sort of. The boss spoke to Sky Sports after the Newcastle match saying Arsenal may enter the market, depending on the club’s injury situation.

“If everybody is fit and available then we do not need to go in the transfer market” he said.

“But when you consider Koscielny could have question marks over his fitness then yes, we would have to enter the market.”

We do not need to go in the transfer market? I am going to give Wenger the benefit of the doubt and assume he is imagining a mythical world where Arsenal has all their players to choose from. And in this mythical world, no Arsenal player is nearly as injury prone as their real live counterparts. If we live in that world, then no, Arsenal do not need any signings.

All joke aside, I fully expect Arsenal to make signings in January regardless of who returns to fitness by then. Wenger is aware Arsenal is short of defenders and a defensive midfielder (at the very least, although I still think we need a proven goal scorer as well), and will use January to address these need accordingly.

Going along with Wenger’s scenario, everybody is not fit in any case, so we gooners expect to see some new faces at the Emirates. It would be unacceptable for Wenger not to sign anybody. But we won’t have to worry about that right? Right?

We have a combination of good players. We could be wining trophies season to season but only injuries hv been a stumblingblock. .Football is business and that is why Wenger is avoiding to sign so as to hav a humble time of managing the wagebill. Barasa.
