Well I never, Arsene Wenger has openly discussed a transfer rumour, giving an honest update on where the potential deal currently sits and the ins-and-outs of the whole scenario.

When asked about the links to Villarreal’s Gabriel Paulista, the Frenchman replied:

“50-50 at this moment”

Us Gooners are use to Le Professeur throwing out a few ‘red herrings’, subtly hinting at something and yet hinting at nothing at all and also just saying nothing but letting out a wry smile and then BANG Arsenal unveil Mesut Ozil.

Even now, I’m still not taking Arsene for his word, in fact, I actually think the deal for the La Liga defender is closer than the former AS Monaco gaffer is hinting. It would be a particularly naive, and a Harry Redknapp-esque move, to discuss a transfer rumour so openly if it wasn’t closer than 50-50 – especially given that Manchester United have been credited with an interest in the central defender.

Does anyone have much insight into Paulista? Please do share with us below.

I don’t yet what wenger mean with the addition of dependers in our club because a player with pauliasta quality has to be swap quickly more especially now that Manchester United has developed their interest.
