Sometimes a part of what makes following football so exciting is the off the field war of words and barbs exchanged between rival players and managers. The latter especially, and our manager has been involved in his fair share of notable feuds and spats. Wenger has famously locked horns with the likes of Sir Alex Ferguson and Alan Pardew in the past but none more fiercely and ferociously than Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho.

The two have always had a rather rocky relationship, and it has miraculously worsened since Mourinho’s return to Chelsea two seasons ago. The feud took a now infamous turn for the worse during last year’s clash at Stamford Bridge when the two were involved in a shoving match on the sidelines following a meaty challenge from Gary Cahill on Alexis Sanchez.

The Chelsea boss is undoubtedly the aggressor, aiming barbs and digs at Arsenal and Wenger every chance he gets, most notably branding the boss “a specialist in failure.” Wenger has held his ground throughout the years though, sending some stinging assessments of his own. We at Arsenal-Mania though it would be fun to revisit some of the very best of Wenger’s Mourinho put downs. Have a look at the seven best barbs sent in Mourinho’s direction from the boss.
