Who?

Nestor Fabian Caballero, often called ‘Tyson’, joined Arsenal on loan on the 28th October for the remainder of the 1998/99 Premier League season from Paraguayan side Cerro Porteno.

Arsenal Highlights?

The guy made one Premiership appearance for Arsenal, and it wasn’t even a start, so forgive me if I struggle to find something for this section.

Caballero’s only appearance in the league was as a substitiute in the 1-1 draw with Middleborough in November. However, the striker also ran out for Arsenal against Chelsea in the Worthington Cup and the 4-2 FA Cup Third Round victory over Preston North End.

Despite failing to make the breakthrough on a regular basis for the first-team, Fabian had greater success with the reserves where he bagged eight goals in 16 games.

Arsenal reject! Arsenal reject!

After returning to Paraguay after his loan spell with Arsenal, Caballero joined Sol de America for a year before joining Scottish Premier League side Dundee where he enjoyed his most fruitful spell, bagging 21 goals in 111 games across a five-year period.

Upon leaving the Scottish outfit in 2005, Caballero then embarked on a journeyman career, to end all journeyman careers:

Olimpia Asuncion, Tacuary, Daejon Citizen, Alki, Provincial Osorno, Panachaiki, Nacional Asuncion, Municipal, Tacuary, Sportivo Ameliano and finally, and currently, Deportivo Recoleta.
