I wanted to start this article with the definition of what exactly a ‘Judas’ is, however, every time I typed: "define: Judas" into Google it kept saying: "Did you mean Robin van Persie?"

Anyway, I appreciate my age – which, despite some readers comments, isn’t something I can control, so, I apologise for that – will mean I will not mention the Judas’ of yesteryear i.e. George Graham but I’m really not knowledgeable enough to pass comment or judgment on those rotten turncoats.

For a fan who has only known the Premier League, I seem to have had to experience more than my fair share of Judas’, especially in recent seasons where we seemed to partake in an annual ritual of losing our best player(s).

The latest heartbreak we’ve had to endure is seeing one-time ‘golden boy’ Cesc Fabregas join the insufferable José Mourinho over at Chelsea. In fairness to Cesc, we had the chance to bring him back, he wanted to come back but Arsène Wenger had moved on and upgraded to a Mesut Ozil.

I’m gutted to see the Spanish international move to Stamford Bridge but I wouldn’t label him a Judas for his decision. I mean, let’s face it, he already has that label for the way he conducted himself in order to seal his move back to Barcelona.

Returning to Barcelona was his dream, though, and he must be devastated it didn’t work out as he had planned. And I suppose, deep down, we can’t begrudge him leaving *that* much because, after all, most of us would do anything to see our dreams become reality, right?

So, in answer to the question, we have Ashley Cole and Robin van Persie to write angry letters to, so let’s not waste too much time penning that many to Fabregas (maybe the odd one or two, wouldn’t go amiss, though).
