2 January deals Arsene Wenger must tie up this week

Emery is better at reading the opposition, says Parlour

Arsenal are now second in the Premier League after a late win over Sean Dyche’s Burnley, leapfrogging Tottenham, Liverpool and Manchester City who all dropped points on the weekend.

Arsene Wenger finds his side the closest challengers to Chelsea, who are eight points clear at the top. The Blues host second place Arsenal in the next league fixture in two weeks time, after a week of FA cup action. A huge game for both sides which will surely decide the title.

Arsene Wenger’s squad is very thin and limited at the moment, thanks to injury and another suspension for Granit Xhaka, and the Frenchman will surely have to consider recruiting a couple of new additions before the end of the window so he is prepared for the top of the table clash at Stamford Bridge.

Arsenal will know that a loss at the Bridge will be the end of the title bid for another season.

Here are TWO players Arsenal should look to bring in this week in time for the Chelsea game to boost their chances of getting a result away at the Bridge.. Do you agree?

Daniel Sturridge

The Englishman has struggled to get in his Liverpool team since Jurgen Klopp has taken over at Anfield, with many of his teammates being favoured over him in the centre-forward position, such as Origi and Firmino. Sturridge will be frustrated at his lack of game-time as he knows that he can be a brilliant striker for a Premier League side with previous seasons he’s had in the division.

Sturridge may have to move from Anfield to get minutes under his belt and play the football that he wants. Arsenal could be a perfect switch for pacey striker with their injury hit squad and lack of depth in the centre-forward position. Whether it be on loan, or permanent, Danny Sturridge would be a fine addition.

Ivan Perisic

The Croatian who is currently playing his football in Italy with Inter Milan, will be looking for a step-up in his career after succeeding in Serie A, and the Premier League could be the ideal move for the inside forward.

Perisic would not be a cheap addition for Arsenal, but a worthy one. The Croatian has proven wherever he has played his football that he is capable of brilliant performances and with his versatility across the front-line, he could be a player Arsene Wenger would want to land in the upcoming week.
