Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has a major reputation for his trust and development of young prospects within his time at the North London club. The Frenchman has Developed youngsters with huge potential into world class professionals including the likes of Spanish international Cesc Fabregas and Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry.

This January transfer window may see the Arsenal manager dip into the market for young prospects at a cheap price. The football market at present is very expensive, and with the opportunity to recruit relatively cheap young talent, Arsene Wenger may just buy for the future, like he has done numerous times in his career.

The Premier League is full of competitive squads, with youngsters finding it hard to get into the first team, and make their break in football. With Arsene Wenger’s history, surely some young talent will be tempted to switch to the Emirates if the offer comes in.

Here are TWO Liverpool youngsters that Arsenal could potentially land this January..

Ben Woodburn

The seventeen year old striker has been the talk of Liverpool this season after becoming the youngest goalscorer in Liverpool Football Club’s history when he struck against Leeds United in an EFL Cup quarter-final. The local youngster has been in the Liverpool academy set up since he was six years old, and is on the brink on making the first team.

In November last year, Woodburn put pen to paper and signed a new deal at Liverpool, on a long-term contract. Unfortunately for Arsene Wenger, this new contract will inevitably raise the Welshmen’s value – so if Arsenal want the striker, they will have to spend a few million pounds to land the hot prospect.

Trent Alexander-Arnold

After making his breakthrough to the first team, Alexander-Arnold has impressed with his recent form including a solid right-back performance at Old Trafford last weekend, when he was up against Anthony Martial. Trent, who was familiar with the centre-midfield role in the development set-up, has made his way to the right-back position in the first-team but is more than happy to play the position for the senior side.

The nineteen year old signed a new long-term contract on the same day as Woodburn, as Klopp clearly wants to keep the two youngsters at Anfield.

Alexander-Arnold could be a solid signing for Arsenal with his versatile positioning in key areas for the North London side, including centre-midfield and full-back.

The fee would be similar to Woodburn’s due to the new contract, but a player who could fill in to Arsenal’s side with their current injuries.
