Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has a major reputation for his trust and development of young prospects within his time at the North London club. The Frenchman has Developed youngsters with huge potential into world class professionals including the likes of Spanish international Cesc Fabregas and Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry.

This January transfer window may see the Arsenal manager dip into the market for young prospects at a cheap price. The football market at present is very expensive, and with the opportunity to recruit relatively cheap young talent, Arsene Wenger may just buy for the future, like he has done numerous times in his career.

The Premier League is full of competitive squads, with youngsters finding it hard to get into the first team, and make their break in football. With Arsene Wenger’s history, surely some young talent will be tempted to switch to the Emirates if the offer comes in.

Here are TWO Spurs youngsters that Arsenal could potentially land this January..

Zenon Stylianides

The nineteen year old central midfielder has impressed at U18 level and as a result been pushed up to the U23 squad, where he has kept his place in the side with some eye-catching performances in the middle of the park. The youngster is also able to fill in at centre-back, meaning that his versatility plays a key role in his success in the U23 squad.

Since joining Spurs in 2014, the young playmaker has consistently improved and became more mature as each year has passed. Arsene Wenger will know that landing a deal with Arsenal’s rivals will be difficult, but it may be worth the trouble to try and bring the youngster to the Emirates for the near future.

Shayon Harrison

Tottenham’s development squad’s main striker and goalscorer, Shayon Harrison would be a quality signing for the Gooners. Just seventeen years old, the young Englishmen made his senior debut against Liverpool in the EFL cup this season as a second-half substitute, showing how highly the Spurs manager rates his striker. In pre-season, young Harrison scored in a 6-1 victory against Italian giants, Inter Milan.

Harrison has been prolific infront of goal since playing for Spurs, including a memorable hat-trick against Arsenal U18s in a 4-1 win against their local rivals.

The striker may cost Arsene Wenger a relatively high fee due to the fierce rivalry between the North London clubs, but a fee which could look like a bargain in the future.
