Arsenal target Mykola Matviyenko has hinted he wants to move to the Gunners after liking a post about him moving to the Emirates.
Mikel Arteta is in the market for a defender this month and the north London club are considering making a move for the Shakhtar Donetsk centre-back Matviyenko.
The 23 year-old has emerged as a huge prospect, but Arsenal now look in pole position for his signature after the player indicated he wants a deal wrapped up soon.
Matviyenko responded to an Instagram comment where someone asked him: “Arsenal wants to carry out a transaction to buy Matviyenko by February 1st. Do you want this transfer to be done this winter?”
The Ukrainian liked the post, giving fans hope that Arsenal could sign a centre-back this window after all.
The Gunners still have RB Leipzig centre-back Dayot Upamecano as a long-term summer target and are now considering options to help them out for the remainder of the season.
