3 Dortmund players that could follow Tuchel to Arsenal

Arsenal face a crucial few months ahead, with the end of the campaign presenting a huge challenge for the Gunners. However, their most difficult period could come during the summer.

Arsene Wenger’s side face a period of uncertainty with the future of the long-serving French boss hanging in the balance and there also being concerns regarding the future’s of key-players; not least Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez.

Should the trio all leave, Arsenal will have a major rebuild on their hands and the same is the case if the two key-men stay, as the Gunners have looked short of contending for the top honours domestically and on the continent.

However, German outlet Bild state Arsenal have made an approach to Borussia Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel about succeeding Arsene Wenger at the Emirates Stadium and it certainly raises an exciting opportunity for the Gunners.

Should Tuchel join Arsenal, then there is a chance that top-players could follow from the Signal Iduna Park and these three are contenders to make that move.

Marco Reus

The 27-year-old German has been touted as a potential replacement for Alexis Sanchez, should the Chilean leave this summer, and there’s no doubt Marco Reus would be a top-quality addition for the Gunners- particularly if their ranks are weakened by departures.

After five years with Dortmund, Reus may feel it’s time to seek a new challenge and the Premier League could be the perfect fit for a player who turns 28 in May and thus enters the prime years of his career as a footballer.

Arsenal would have to pay a hefty sum to land Reus’ services but the Gunners have the financial capabilities to pull off a swoop.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

A top name that Arsenal dream of, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been linked with a move to North London for years. However, there’s a chance this summer that a move for the Gabonese international could finally come off.

Like Reus, Aubameyang may decide it’s time to move on and there could be a lack of suitors in Europe, particularly from Spain, although there would be rival interest in the Premier League. Arsenal would probably have to smash their transfer record for Aubameyang but with a record of 77 goals in 119 Bundesliga appearances, he’d certainly be worth it.

Christian Pulisic

18-year-old Pulisic is rated as one of the most exciting young midfielders in European football and he could thrive at Arsenal. Although the Gunners’ ranks are already well stocked, question marks remain regarding the future’s of Jack Wilshere and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, whilst Santi Cazorla’s time is running out.

On top of that, Francis Coquelin hasn’t excelled as many would have hoped and Pulisic could step-in to Arsenal’s ranks and develop into a crucial asset for the Gunners. Whilst Arsenal would have to fend-off a wealth of interest in the teenager’s services, he’d be the ideal fit into the side.
